Fish Day

Here we are preparing the meal for Friday - A Fish Day.

At weeklong demonstrations we ensure that Friday is actually a fish day; if you do not like fish then I am afraid you have to stick to beer bread and cheese!.

While you cannot see any fish you will notice Ruth putting the finishing touches to a salmon in a crust ready for adding into the bake in the oven.

Each presentation is handled by a nominated interpreter; this avoid confusion amongst the school children and also keeps them focused. This time it was Hugh who you can just see standing in the gloom behind Ruth.

Ruth was suffering from a sore throat, you can see a written charm around her neck; a cheap form of medicine which at least provided a comforter !.
