Sulgrave 1st - 9th July 2000

The tenth year such events have been enacted by members of the group ( as Histrionix and Valentine Waltons Regt ) and the fifth year that The Tudor Group has run its own event.

Attendance was good, we had up to 37 members on each day. The public were a bit thin on the first weekend, but then that is the character of the site.

We had the following stations :- Kitchen (& woodsman); Great Hall (The Washingtons & relations); The Great Bedchamber (Religion; hair and getting dressed); still room; bookbinders; spinning; ropemaking; brewing; forge; dying; chandling; animal husbandry (sheep & pigs); gardening. More than enough to keep the visitors interested !!.

We were lucky with the weather, most of the rain was in the afternoon, after the school parties had left. Two days were actually hot, sunny and rather pleasant.

High points of the week :-

All in all, those who attended need a big pat on the back as it was the most successful, relaxing and productive Sulgrave yet. Those who could not come, well you missed a good one.
