20042004 saw further land husbandry work at St. Fagans - Museum of Welsh Life. The fencing on three sides of the main field is now complete and we have remade the gate posts to the yard. The annual Sulgrave Manor event was very successful with new stations; a potter; tallow chandling and a painters workshop. A new site for us was Rufford Park in Nottinghamshire, where we had a schools day followed by a public open weekend; focusing on Elizabethan games and past-times; an exhausting but exceptionally enjoyable event. Our annual event at The Mary Rose Trust was another success, as well as presenting to the public we helped train some of the Trust archeologists in the techniques required to cook on the galley. Some of the other new events were Caldicote Castle; unfortunately the weather was slightly damp!; and Cressing Temple where The Group displayed an interior and a publicity stand. |
