20032003 was another busy year. A repeat of the Alehouse at Avoncroft allowed us to settle into the site quickly; making the alehouse looked live-in from the first minute. This years Sulgrave Manor event was a new format for us. The event was in the Summer holidays; so no school parties. This allowed us to explore a new set of activities inside the house and concentrate on some of the more mundane aspects such as cleaning; washing etc. Another new format was at The Victoria and Albert Museum, where we had stations dotted around the museum close to exhibition galleries that showed original items. This allowed us to place the galleries in context and the public could discuss what they had seen with us. St. Fagans saw the start of our woodland management programme; helping the grounds staff to repair the area around the building. We also attempted our first "Full On" days - 4 days of avoiding all modern influences (including tea, coffee, tobacco and chocolate !). Other events included: Two soldiers at the National Army Museum providing an extensive display of the arms of the period; A static display at The Richmond Green Fayre to support Richmond Museum and two events at The Mary Rose Trust interpreting the recreated galley |
