20022002 was a busy year. It saw our first Alehouse at Avoncroft, only one building but requiring a large tonnage of equipment to be shifted for just one weekend - well worth the effort in the end; the sponsors, public and our members all had a good weekend. The Sulgrave Manor event was hectic. The school parties were fully booked 12 months in advance and the last weekend of the 9-day event saw a large number of the school children visit for a second time, bringing their parents. A dozen of us went to Omagh History Park in Ireland; the majority being flown over while three volunteers drove a fully laden van of equipment. The event "An English Colony c1600". St. Fagans saw us there for Easter and the May festival an estmate 15,000 visitors; we think they all must have come into our house !. Other events included: our second visit to Shakespeares Birthplace for "An Elizabethan Christmas" and events at The Mary Rose Trust interpreting the recreated galley |
