An Unlicensed Ordinary![]() The Common BedspaceAvoncroft (2003)The largest room upstairs was set aside for a communual sleeping area. This light-deprived picture is taken from the middle of the roomshowing two of the beds and some common furniture. There were 6 beds and a number of floor mattresses. For an extra charge a curtain could be provided for some privacy. While The house only has a smoke hood (which would lead some to feel the upstairs would be smokey) the atmosphere upstairs was pleasant as many members of The Group have significant fire management skills and can create cooking fires with little or no smoke.Photographer: Susanne Atkin |
