An Unlicensed Ordinary

A Local in the Daylight

Avoncroft (2003)

The light in the main room is subdued so some customers prefer to sit outside.

In reality in the period an alehouse would have to serve ale outside or risk being accused of serving Tipplers. This is why we call it an Ordinary, such a place is allowed to serve food and also ale indoors.
