An Unlicensed Ordinary![]() A serving girl in troubleAvoncroft (2003)Events such as this are real and played naturally by The Group, with no ham-acting. The serving girl Katherine had forgotten to serve some food and Ruth was reminding her of her chores. In reality Katherine is Ruths daughter, so there was no real friction in this incident. We ran the alehouse using reproduction coinage and a slate for some of the locals. All food and drink was fetched by the members of the group who were servants (they ALL volunteered for the job !). So needless to say, mistakes were genuinely made with some orders.Photographer: Susanne Atkin |
