The remains of the midday meal have been moved into the kitchen and before the washing up is done some of the servants help themselves to the left overs.
Master Washington would probably be irritated to see them drink any red wine. In the period it was felt that such hot blooded drinks were unsuitable for the ordinary classes.Photographer: Phillip Cohan
