The 1600s House

The Effectiveness of a Broadsword

Sulgrave Manor (2003)

A demonstration of weapons on the Lawn.

Here you see a member of the Trayned Bandes slicing an enemy cabbage !.

All of our weapons are real and hence the correct weight and sharp - the only exceptions are copies of practice rapiers from the Victoria and Albert Museum.

It is difficult to convince the public with a blunt weapon and despite worries to the contrary; sharp weapons are safe when shown to the public in the correct way. Our members are trained in such practices.
