The 1600s House

The Tailor and his journeyman

Sulgrave Manor (2003)

The tailor sits upon a stool on the table near the best light, while his journeyman makes do further away.

A tailor would not have lived at The Manor, however there is significant evidence to indicate that if tailoring work was needed a tailor would be hired from Banbury. He would work at the Manor and sleep somewhere orn the premises (probably the attics with the servant).
