Cooking and food

Obviously food was an important part of life, the English were also well known for displaying their wealth in the way they presented food to guests.

The vast majority of our events involve food in some way or other as our members have to eat during the day and we provide them with a period meal so that they can continue working wth the public.

The Group takes this part of our presentation seriously and the majority of members are fully capable of preparing ordinary food in a period context - this enables us to take it in turns.

Middle-class events such as Sulgrave Manor give The Group the opportunity to work infront of the public to produce special settings of food and to demonstrate the table etiquette present at the time.
