We are fortunate in having members who will put a great deal of effort into portraying the middle classes, while not wishing to portray courtiers or nobility. Such members of our group dress in sober, practical wear of the era and concentrate on accuracy of materials rather than compromising on splendour with "gold effect" and modern fabrics.
The picture is of Lawrence Washington, his sister, the local priest and the wife of a Banbury merchant. While at table our members observe the correct etiquette, and demonstrate such to the public.
